Bethlehem Inn believes everyone deserves to live with dignity and respect, and we are committed to championing policies and practices of racial, cultural and economic equity that empower a just, inclusive  and equitable world.  This commitment informs our mission to transform lives through shelter, help and hope for adults and families experiencing homelessness.

Existing and historic systems of power in our society grant privilege and access unequally, based on factors; such as,  race/ethnicity, age, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, socioeconomic status, geography and ability.

We recognize that our community is directly impacted by these factors of exclusion and we are committed to combating this inequality and working towards justice for all.  Bethlehem Inn aims to ensure that our organization embodies the values, policies and practices that ensure that all people are represented in the development of our policies and programs, and in the fair distribution of programmatic, financial, and informational resources.

Land Acknowledgement:

We acknowledge and honor the land on which Bethlehem Inn sits and respect the ancestral connections to Indigenous people and their descendants. Central Oregon is home to the tribes of Warm Springs, Wasco, Paiute, Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin. We celebrate the richness and diversity of Central Oregon and what makes our residents, staff and community unique.  We are committed to understanding the role we play in upholding systems that perpetuate inequities and to do what we can to change those systems.

Who We Serve:

Bethlehem Inn serves adults, children and families impacted by homelessness. We honor people as multidimensional individuals, not defined by a single life experience or trauma. We seek to help everyone we serve discover their unique strengths. We honor the rights, dignity, and humanity of those we serve. In doing so, we respect and value all people inclusive of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status,  national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, occupation, or other reason that could be used as a basis for discrimination.

Our Commitment:

We commit to ensuring all the people we serve have the same opportunities and access to services. We commit to working with our community partners toward building a more equitable organization and community; one in which diversity, equity and inclusion play a central role in determining how to best serve those impacted by homelessness.
